THE GREATEST DAYS PART 3

Peter and Helen kept up their own conversations with Matt and Maddie while their children and friends were entertaining the wedding guests.

“Helen, Trixie is stunning! The dress fits her like it had been made for her,” Maddie gushed.

Helen smiled in pride, stealing a glance at her daughter, agreed “She is absolutely beautiful!”

“Jim is a lucky man!” Matt added.

“My daughter is the one who’s lucky. Jim is the most wonderful man.” Peter smiled remembering back to a teenage Trixie bouncing out to the car telling him she had met the most wonderful boy.

“Jim is the man I wished and hoped my daughter would find. I couldn’t ask for more!” Helen blotted the corners of her eyes to stop the tears from flowing.

Maddie reached across to grasp Helen’s hand. “They are lucky to have each other!”

In the meantime… Jim reached his hand out for his bride’s. The movement brought Trixie’s eyes to his.

“Shamus, this day is so much more than I ever dreamed it could be.”

“Oh Jim, I love you so much! This is the day you’ve made my dreams come true.”

“I love you!” Jim closed the distance between them and gently kissed his wife.

“So do you think they’ll ever grow tired of this, of each other?” Mart asked Dan.

Dan looked at his friends again, and shook his head, “Nah, they’re in it for the long haul.”

Honey and Di smiled at each other and sighed.

Big brother, Brian watched the newlyweds intently. He leaned over to voice his agreement with Dan, “They really make us believe that this could happen for everyone.”

Honey reached for Brian’s hand, while Di grasped Mart’s. The entire group was lost for a moment in their own thoughts.
